Discount Calculator
Work out the sale price and total savings for any percentage-off discount.
How this calculator works
Enter the original price and the discount percentage to instantly see the sale price and how much you're saving. Useful for checking a store's advertised discount, comparing deals, or budgeting for a sale.
Stacking multiple discounts
If an item has two discounts applied one after another (for example, 20% off, then an extra 10% off at checkout), the discounts don't simply add up to 30% — the second discount applies to the already reduced price. Run the sale price through this calculator a second time with the next discount to get the real final price.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate two stacked discounts?
Discounts applied one after another don't simply add up — the second discount applies to the already-reduced price. Run the resulting sale price back through this calculator with the second discount percentage to get the real final price.
Does this include sales tax?
No, this shows the price after the discount only. Sales tax is typically calculated on top of the discounted price at checkout.
I know the sale price — can I work out the original price?
Not directly here, but the formula is original = sale price ÷ (1 − discount ÷ 100). For example, a $60 price after a 25% discount means the original was $60 ÷ 0.75 = $80.
